The Stock app allows you to display your choice of stock tickers on screen, or as part of a Split Screen configuration as a ticker.
The Stock App allows you to display live ticker prices from the marketplace. Stock prices are updated every 15 minutes.
What You'll Need
- An OptiSigns account - Standard Plan or higher
- An OptiSigns-enabled device
- A screen, set up and paired with OptiSigns
Setting Up a Stock App
On the OptiSigns portal, go to Assets → Add Asset → Apps.
Select Stock:
Set up your Stock app:
Name - The name of your Stock asset. This is for organizational purposes within OptiSigns only and will not display on your screens.
Title - Displayed Title that will show on screen. It will show above your list of ticker symbols.
Stock Symbol - Enter your ticker symbols. These appear as tags in the UI, and will determine which stocks are tracked onscreen:
Theme - Choose between Light and Dark themes, or upload your own Custom theme.
Speed - Choose the speed at which the ticker refreshes. Choose from Slow, Medium, Fast, or Custom. When Custom is chosen, you can adjust it via the below slider:
Deploying a Stock App
You can deploy your new Stock app as an individual asset, or as part of a Split Screen as a ticker.
As an Asset
To get your new Stock asset to a screen, go to the Screens tab, then click the screen you want to assign it to.
This brings up the Edit Screen tab:
Here, select Asset under Content type, then hit Change next to Selected Asset.
Then, select your created Stock Asset:
Now hit Save. Your Stock asset will now display on screen.
As a Scrolling Strip
Stock apps are most often wanted as a Scrolling Strip as part of a Split Screen app.
To create this, you'll need to set up the Stock app as a Scrolling Strip. Let's get started.
On the OptiSigns portal, go to Assets → Add Asset → Apps.
Select Scrolling Strip:
This will open up a Scrolling Strip app creation window. Select Stock under Type:
Then, select your created Stock Asset:
