In this article, we'll show how to display your upcoming Eventbrite events on your digital signs with OptiSigns.
With the Eventbrite Events app, it's possible to display upcoming events from Eventbrite on your digital signs. Promote your own events, or those of a venue or organizer you love, complete with dates, venues, ticket prices and a QR code viewers can scan to get tickets.
Let's get started.
What You'll Need
- An OptiSigns account - Standard Plan or higher
- Either an Eventbrite account with an organizer profile, or the public Eventbrite link of the event, organizer or venue you want to show
- An OptiSigns-enabled device
- A screen, set up and paired with OptiSigns (see our Getting Started guide)
Creating an Eventbrite Events App
From the OptiSigns portal, go to Files/Assets and select Apps.
Search for Eventbrite and select the Eventbrite Events app.
You'll be asked how to load your events. Choose one:
- Continue with Eventbrite - Sign in to your Eventbrite organizer account and show your own events.
- Use public events - Show any organizer's, venue's or event's events using their public Eventbrite link. No Eventbrite account is needed.
Continue with Eventbrite
Click Continue with Eventbrite and sign in to Eventbrite in the window that opens, then approve access. The app settings will open with your Eventbrite connection shown at the top. Fill in the following:
- Name - The name of your Eventbrite Events asset. This is for organizational purposes within OptiSigns only and will not display on your screens.
- Organization - The Eventbrite organization whose events are shown, if your account has more than one.
- Venue - Show events at all of your venues, or pick one venue.
An Advanced section is also available with this option:
- Include unlisted (private link) events - Check this box to also show events you've set as unlisted on Eventbrite.
NOTE |
| The Eventbrite account you sign in with needs an organizer profile. If it doesn't have one, you'll see Couldn't connect Eventbrite. Set up an organizer profile on eventbrite.com, then try again. |
Use Public Events
Click Use public events. Fill in the following:
- Name - The name of your Eventbrite Events asset. This is for organizational purposes within OptiSigns only and will not display on your screens.
- Eventbrite link - The public Eventbrite link to show. Paste an event link to show that one event, or an organizer or venue link to show everything they have coming up, such as https://www.eventbrite.com/o/your-venue-12345.
NOTE |
| Eventbrite has no "events near me" search, so the app shows whatever the link you paste points to. |
Display
The Display section controls which events are shown and how they look.
- Layout - How your events are presented. See below.
- Show events in the next - How far ahead to look for events: 7 days, 14 days, 30 days (the default) or 90 days.
- Seconds per slide - How long each event is shown, from 5 to 20 seconds. Only available with the Event Marquee layout.
- Number of events - How many events rotate through the screen, from 3 to 8. Each layout shows as many as fit at once and pages through the rest. Available with every layout except Event Marquee.
- Theme - Dark (the default), Light, or Custom.
- Show ticket price - Shows each event's ticket price, or Free. On by default.
- Show QR code to buy tickets - Shows a QR code that opens the event's Eventbrite page. On by default.
There are four layouts:
- Event Marquee - One event at a time, with its poster, date, time, venue, price and QR code, plus a preview of the next event. This is the default.
- Neighborhood Board - A board of upcoming event cards, each with its own price and QR code.
- Right Now - The current time, the next event up with its QR code, and a list of the events coming up after it.
- Going Fast - Spotlights one event at a time under a Going Fast banner.

Now hit Save. You'll have created an Eventbrite Events app, and it will appear in your Files/Assets.
TIP |
| The Preview appears once the app is saved. Double-click your Eventbrite Events app in Files/Assets to reopen it. Any changes you make there show up right away in the preview. |
Deploying an Eventbrite Events App
To push your Eventbrite Events app to a screen, go to the Screens tab, then click Edit next to the screen you want to display it on.
The Edit Screen pop-up will appear. Select Asset under Content Type, then hit Change next to Selected Asset.
The Select Asset window will open. Search for your Eventbrite Events app, click it, then hit Select.
Back in Edit Screen, hit Save. Your events will now display on your screen.
Your Eventbrite Events app can also be displayed in a Playlist or Schedule, or as one zone of a Split Screen.
That’s all!
