How to create and use QR Code, Call To Action app

QR Codes is a great way to connect with your customers. By displaying a Call To Action QR Code as part of your digital signs, customer can scan it and take variety number of actions such as open a website, send a SMS Text, follow your Instagram, etc. that you can customize.

All smartphone (Android and iPhone) have QR Code scanning built-in with their default camera app. Users just need to open the camera app, point toward the QR code and actions will be prompted.

You can create QR code for variety type of actions, here are some good examples to go with Digital Signs:

  • Open your website URL
  • Call a phone number
  • Send an SMS Text message, you can even pre-fill some information
  • Take user to App Store to download an app (it will auto detect Android or iPhone and take user to the appropriate places)
  • Take user to follow your Facebook, Instagram, or other social media pages
  • Write a reviews on Google Reviews
  • and more ...

 

To create QR Code and put on your signs with OptiSigns.

To create QR Code and put on your signs with OptiSigns:

First, you will need to have your screens set up and paired. For more information on how to do that, click here.

Then log on to our portal: http://app.optisigns.com/

Go to Files/Assets, Click on "App" and add Instagram on your Account.

Click QR Code app:

Enter information for your QR Code.

  • Name: Name of your QR Code, this is the name in your asset list. It will not be displayed on your screens.

  • QR Code Type: Select the type of action that you want your QR code to initiate. Depend on the action, there could be additional information. For example, SMS action will ask a phone number and a message. Scanning this QR will open user's phone's message app, pre-fill in the To: phone number and a draft message.mceclip3.png

Click Save to create the QR Code.

You can Preview and use your phone to Scan and test to make sure the QR code is doing the actions you want it to do.

That's all! Congratulation!

Now your QR Code is ready to use.
You can use it with a number of apps that integrate QR code such as Google Reviews, Yelp Wall, etc. by edit the wall, in QR Code, select the one you just created.
