- What You'll Need
- Install the OptiSigns App
- Pair the Screen with Your Account
- Put Content on Your Screen
- Change the Screen's Orientation
- Unpair a Screen
- Troubleshooting
Turn any TV or display into a digital sign. Install the OptiSigns app on your player, pair it with your account, and choose what it shows.
What You'll Need
- An OptiSigns account. If you don't have one, you can create one for free at app.optisigns.com.
- A player running the OptiSigns app, such as an Android, Fire TV, Windows, Mac or Linux device, connected to the internet
- A screen connected to the player
Install the OptiSigns App
Download the OptiSigns app for your player from optisigns.com/download.
Once the app is installed, open it. It asks whether to start automatically when the device starts up. Select Yes, unless you want to open the app by hand every time.
The app then shows a pairing code:
Pair the Screen with Your Account
On your computer, go to app.optisigns.com and sign in. You can also sign in with Google, Microsoft or Facebook, or with your company's SSO.
On the Screens page, click Add Screen.
Type the pairing code shown on your screen into Pair code, then click Pair.
| TIP |
| Pairing codes are case-sensitive. If your player shows the code in lowercase, select Use lowercase pairing code. |
Your screen changes to show that it's paired:
Put Content on Your Screen
Go to Files/Assets and click Upload Files.
Drag files from your computer into the window, click browse files, or import them from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and more. Then click Upload.
Once your files are uploaded, open the menu on a file and select Push To Screens. Select your screen and click Push. The file now plays on your screen.

Change the Screen's Orientation
To show content in portrait, or to fix a screen that's mounted upside down, rotate the screen. The options are:
- Landscape - No rotation.
- Rotate 90 degrees - Best for "Portrait" style displays.
- Rotate 180 degrees
- Rotate 270 degrees
For the best result, use content made for portrait when you rotate by 90 or 270 degrees. OptiSigns apps are designed to fit portrait mode too.
Rotate from the Portal
On the Screens page, click Edit on the screen. Choose a rotation from Orientation and click Save.
Rotate from the Device
Open the OptiSigns app's side menu on the device, select Rotation, and choose an option.
Unpair a Screen
Unpair a screen when you no longer use it, or to move it to a different account. You can do this from the portal or from the device.
Unpair from the Portal
On the Screens page, click the three-dot menu at the end of the screen's row and select Remove.
Type DELETE to confirm and click Delete.
IMPORTANT |
| Removing a screen can't be undone. To use the device again, pair it with a new code. |
Unpair from the Device
Open the OptiSigns app's side menu: press the menu button (three bars) on a Fire TV remote, or press Enter on a keyboard for Windows, Linux or Mac. Then select Unpair Device.
Troubleshooting
Here are a few common issues people may find when they are setting up and adding a screen, and how to solve them.
"Please verify the code and try again. Codes are case-sensitive."
Check the code on your screen and type it exactly, matching upper and lower case. If the player shows a lowercase code, select Use lowercase pairing code.
Add Screen is greyed out
Your plan's screen limit has been reached, or your role can't add screens. Hover over the button to see why. To add more screens, upgrade your plan or ask your account Owner or an Admin.
